To this end, Hispania, escuela de espaƱol offers HACU 20 scholarships to invite faculty from the Spanish as a Foreign Language area and higher education profile to Valencia, for one week.
This invitation is primarily directed at institutions/professors who are considering whether Hispania and Valencia (Spain) could be a suitable destination for a formative extension for their students.

Hispania, Escuela de EspaƱol

The Spanish Program in Valencia
Hispania, escuela de espaƱol is an accredited center by The Instituto Cervantes (Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and EAQUALS, Excellence in Language Education, and in recent years has won multiple awards for its great work and has received numerous recognitions making it one of the world leaders in the āStudy Abroadā sector for teaching Spanish. Our school offers Spanish language and culture courses for foreigners through qualified, experienced, dedicated, and competent professors who address the specific and personal needs of each student.
Our program offers a complete training in ELE teacher training based on our own methodology: The Hispania Method.

Course designed to provide the tools that will allow second language teachers to create happy learning spaces and, therefore, successful learning environments.
The Hispania Method was created more than 23 years ago and since then, it has not stopped reaping success. According to inspectors and auditors from the Cervantes Institute: āThe Hispania Method is another level of people-based teaching.ā According to Carlos Soler, inspector of the Cervantes Institute: āThe Hispania Method should be studied in the most important universities in the worldā.
The course has a duration of 20 hours divided into three main pillars:
- Face-to-face training sessions.
- Observation of real classes.
- Participation in socio-cultural activities.
Proposal For Teachers From Institutions Associated with HACU
Professors throughout their professional careers, require ongoing updates and continuing education credits to implement knowledge, methodologies, and new guidelines that enhance their teaching practice.
Hispania offers in Valencia the “ELE TEACHER TRAINING: EL MĆTODO HISPANIA”
Through this course, participants will receive didactic resources based on recent research aimed at stimulating and developing students’ communicative competence.
To achieve this, tools will be provided and utilized to facilitate the creation of learning situations linked to linguistic content, written and oral skills, and multiculturalism.
New Perspectives for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language: Theory, Practice, and Classroom Resources
General Objectives
- Create a professional exchange space for Spanish faculty through specialized training focused on developing key competencies for both the instructors and the learner.
- Reflect on the procedures necessary for effective pedagogical practice.
- Learn about and select didactic materials suitable for the current educational context.
Contents
20 hours distributed into four hours of class per day in the morning, from Monday to Friday.
Site Training Sessions
In these training sessions the most important methodological strategies of the Hispania Method for successful classroom management are presented. To achieve this, we will reflect on the role of the teacher and the skills needed to generate and maintain student motivation.
On the other hand, these sessions show teachers how to present the grammatical objective in an effective way to promote meaningful learning, with special emphasis on the treatment of error, communicative activities and play in the classroom.

Observation of Real Classes
Classroom observation is a powerful tool that will allow interested teachers to learn from real situations that occur on a daily basis in our classrooms.
In addition, in these observations they will be able to see how to put into practice the strategies that have been worked on in the training sessions.
The teacher will observe sessions of different levels of Spanish with different student profiles in which he/she will be able to see such essential issues for the teacher as the resolution of students’ doubts, group management and the dynamization of the activities.

Participation in Sociocultural Activities

The importance of culture in the learning of a second language is unquestionable and during these hours the teacher will be able to participate with Spanish students in socio-cultural activities that will favor experiential learning.
The aim of these sessions is to encourage reflection on the importance of bringing culture closer to the learner in a practical and dynamic way as part of the language learning process.

Cultural Program Associated with the Course
Valencia is our Spanish Classroom
Learning continues when leaving the classroom, by discovering and enjoying an environment that combines the best of language and culture. In Valencia, its relaxed atmosphere make learning Spanish both natural and enjoyable. Traditions like Las Fallas and the vibrant urban life further enrich the experience, while the beautiful coastal landscapes provide the perfect backdrop to practice the language. Every corner of Valencia invites you to immerse yourself in the true essence of Spain.
In the city, we will visit:
- Guided tour of the city center.
- Guided tour of Jardines del Turia and Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias
- Guided tour of Torres de Serrano and Barrio del Carmen
- Guided activity: flamenco
The Hispania, escuela de espaƱol Offers FREE of Charge
1) One week is available in Spring 2026

2) Provided by Hispania each week:
- Pedagogy Training Course (20 h)
- Integrated cultural program in Valencia
- Accommodation 7 nights included (single room, with a shared bathroom, kitchen and living room)
- Daily Breakfast Monday through Friday
- Farewell cocktail and presentation of diplomas
*If other accommodation options are being considered, Hispania allows applicants to apply for the scholarship without housing. Additionally, we can provide a list of nearby hotels should that be a more suitable option.
NOT covered by Hispania: Airfare and transportation to/from Valencia or medical insurance.
