HACU Faculty Mobility Alliance

An Opportunity for Faculty Engagement and Collaboration

The HACU Faculty Mobility Alliance (HFMA) fosters academic collaboration and professional development by facilitating enriching temporary academic appointments for scholars from domestic and international institutions of higher education. Opportunities include short-term visits, one-semester or full academic year appointments, as well as participation in sabbaticals. These placements support cross-institutional exchange, scholarly advancement, and the cultivation of global academic networks.

HFMA offers short and mediumterm academic engagements ideal for faculty looking to contribute expertise, engage with a new academic environment, or participate in a project outside of their home institution.

HFMA is designed to support mobility and academic engagement, typically through temporary, part-time, or visiting roles that focus on teaching, mentoring, or collaboration. Most listings are non-permanent and may include modest compensation, honoraria, or support for travel or lodging, depending on the host institution.

Applicants shouldcoordinate with their department chairs or academic leadership before applying. Many opportunities may require release time, sabbatical alignment, or departmental flexibility. Participation should complement your institution’s policies and your professional goals.
