Selected Voces Nuevas participants can apply for sponsorships to attend HACU conferences:
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Voces Nuevas (New Voices) is a competitive program for 50 students from HACU-member institutions across the U.S. and Puerto Rico to receive leadership, advocacy and career development training.
This 8-month program provides students the opportunity to develop leadership and advocacy skills while serving as HACU ambassadors promoting the Association’s programs. Selected students participate in leadership and career development throughout the duration of the program.
National Capitol Forum on Higher Education
National Capitol Forum on Higher Education, held every spring in Washington, D.C. The two-day Capitol Forum features policy briefings on Hispanic-Serving Institution priorities and Capitol Hill visits by delegations meeting in person with congressional leaders to advocate for HSIs and the students they serve. Students have the opportunity to participate in pitch competitions and demonstrate their communication and advocacy skills.Â
¡Adelante! Leadership Institute
The ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute, HACU’s Annual Conference student track, held in the fall offers workshops addressing career, educational and leadership topics. Participants gain insight into employment opportunities and hiring trends in the federal and corporate sectors, while expanding their network and meeting potential employers.Â

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be committed to:
- Complete the Leadership and Career Development modules in Talent LMS
- Participate in all career development sessions throughout the program
- Coordinate and execute a minimum of two HACU information sessions.
- Presentation slides for information sessions will be provided by HACU staff
Eligibility:
- Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Have not received a HACU Conference Sponsorship for the Annual Conference or Capitol Forum in previous years
- Must be enrolled at a college or university in the fall semester
- Must be willing to be sponsored by a corporate, federal, or nonprofit sponsor
