• Manage and post excess government property using the PPMS system to support asset reutilization efforts
• Generate and process transfer documentation for assets relocating across facilities
• Maintain accurate asset records by assisting with system updates for transfers and disposals
• Coordinate the removal and redistribution of assets in alignment with facility closure timelines
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with federal property
management guidelines
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and track multiple assets
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

ASSIGNMENTS:
Provide visitor information services, conservation education, interpretive, and
LNT message to visitors to Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument to visitors from around the world. This ranges from informal interpretive opportunities, Junior Ranger programs, roving trails, and cleaning or site maintenance of the grounds or facilities. This person will be a front line representative of the USFS in uniform interacting with the public as a member of a team in a position that can have 1:1 interactions, or small to medium group talks.

INTERNSHIP LOCATION: Lincoln National Forest, Sacramento District Office Cloudcroft, NM
HOURS: Full-time
DESIRED MAJORS:
Wildlife Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Fish Biology, Natural Resources, or Botany
ASSIGNMENTS:
The primary duties would involve surveying for Threatened, Endangered, and Sensitive species, such as the Mexican Spotted Owl, Tricolored Bat, Sacramento Mountain Salamander, Peñasco Least Chipmunk, New Mexico meadow jumping mouse, and the performance of a variety of land and resource management monitoring. The survey work will be physically demanding and will involve extensive daily hiking in steep terrain at high altitudes (7,000 ft to 11,500 ft), commonly during extreme or inclement weather (e.g., during monsoon rains from JulySept). At least 50% of the spotted owl inventories will be conducted at night. Additional work will involve wetland and riparian habitat restoration, bat mist netting, fish, and botany surveys on the Forest.
DESIRED SKILLS: Â
We are looking for students interested in wildlife, fisheries, botany, or in the field of
ecology. The student should have an interest and some knowledge of outdoor related activities. Intern should feel comfortable working in the outdoor environment.
