The six-month Enlace Mid-Level Leadership program is a development experience for college and university professionals, academic or non-academic support personnel at the mid-level of their higher education organizations. These include academic department chairpersons, education program directors, student support directors and coordinators, team leaders, etc.
Main Topic Areas
Topics covered during the six-month program include academic and student affairs management, regional institutional accreditation, effective data utilization, higher education advocacy issues, and personal interaction with professional search firm partners.
Program Structure
Enlace Mid-Level Leadership program participants complete an in-person session prior to HACU’s Annual Conference in the fall, and attend the entire conference as part of program requirements. Participants complete eight, one-hour online sessions in November, December, February, March, and April. The final in-person session takes place in Washington, D.C., to complete final face-to-face sessions, attend the Capitol Forum and a graduation ceremony. A limited number of scholarships are available.
Requirements
Minimum Participant Section Requirements are:
- At least five years of full-time higher education experience.
- Completion of at least a bachelor’s degree.
- Serving in a supervisory position or two years of previous supervisor experience.

Program Costs
Program cost per participant from a HACU-member institution is $4,000 and covers all program materials, HACU conference registrations and selected meals. Participants will be responsible for any additional costs associated with lodging and travel to and from the program activities, meals not covered by program and incidentals. Applications/nominations from non-HACU-member institutions are also welcome and their program cost is $5,000.
Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available. When submitting application materials, please indicate in the form checkbox your interest for scholarship consideration.
Graduation
Certificate received upon completion of the program.
