HACU hosts HACU on the Road in Spain

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities held a HACU on the Road event at the Instituto Internacional en España in Madrid, Spain on March 10, 2026. The event brought together members of Spain’s higher education community and leaders from the surrounding area for presentations on advancing higher education success for students at Hispanic-Serving Institutions and how the Association is meeting its strategic priorities.

HACU Assistant Vice President of Programs and Services Oralia De Los Reyes led a presentation that highlighted key programs and international initiatives of the Association. Other topics discussed included supporting student success, advocacy, and other initiatives.

As part of the trip to Spain, HACU staff visited Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Universidad de Salamanca, Sevilla, Universidad de Cádiz, Universidad de Huelva, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha and Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia.

HACU on the Road is an initiative designed to promote national and international dialogue about the state of higher education among chancellors, presidents of colleges and universities, superintendents of Hispanic-Serving School Districts, corporate leaders, and supporters of HSIs and the students they serve.
