HACU announces speakers of Third Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced the agenda and speakers of its Third Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium, a pre-conference event taking place Oct. 31, 2025, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado, in conjunction with HACU’s 39th Annual Conference. The symposium is a day-long event for higher education professionals to explore, dialogue, and learn from executive leaders on topics related to successfully navigating the higher education work environment, building a strategic network, and becoming better prepared to assume executive roles in education or any other career field. Speakers and presentations will focus on topics under the theme “Empower. Connect. Advance.” Three sessions will take place, with the first titled “Matriarchs of History: Reclaiming Our Legacy,” presented by Issac M. Carter, Ph.D., founder and CEO, Coaching Imperative.

The second session titled “Leading Through Change: Stories from the Journey,” will be moderated by Beatriz González, Ph.D., president, Wolfson Campus, Miami Dade College and will feature Stephanie J. Fujii, Ph.D., president, Arapahoe Community College; Rosana Reyes, Ed.D., president, Lamar Community College; and Gillian McKnight-Tutein, Ed.D., senior educational officer, Colorado Department of Higher Education.

The third session titled “The Mindful Leader: Balancing Ambition, Wellness, and Authenticity,” will be moderated by Angela Marquez, Ph.D., vice president of external strategy & chief of staff, Community College of Aurora and will feature Margaret McMenamin, Ed.D., president, Union College and Judy Diaz Bonacquisti, Ed.D., vice president of collaboration, University of Colorado.
