The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced the speakers for International Plenary Session I at HACU’s 15th International Conference taking place May 4-6, 2026, at the Kimpton Santo San Antonio – Riverwalk, in San Antonio, Texas.
The International Plenary Session I, “A Cross-Institutional Alliance to Scale International Experiential Learning,” on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. – noon CST, examines how experiential learning is expanding educational opportunities through international and cross-institutional collaboration. Panelists will discuss how their institutions design, implement, and scale study abroad, study away, and other immersive learning experiences advancing student success, workforce readiness, and institutional mission. The session will highlight collaboration across institutions, experiential learning in global contexts, and mission-driven approaches that broaden access to high-impact educational experiences.
The plenary will be moderated by Veronica Garcia, president, Northeast Lakeview College. Featured speakers include Thomas M. Evans, president, University of the Incarnate Word; Gilberto J. Marxuach Torrós, president, Universidad Del Sagrado Corazón; and Glena G. Temple, president, Dominican University.
HACU’s 15th International Conference will feature 25 workshops, plenary sessions and panel sessions. A Student Track, offered in conjunction with the conference, will include panel discussions and informative workshops related to study abroad and other international education programs.
