HACU signs MOU with the Puerto Rico Department of State

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities signed a memorandum of understanding on September 10, 2024, with the Puerto Rico Department of State in Washington, D.C., to provide a partnership framework advancing educational, social, and economic strategic objectives, including promoting programs and initiatives enhancing academic offerings of public and private higher education institutions in Puerto Rico. HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores and Puerto Rico Department of State Secretary of State Omar J. Marrero Díaz signed the MOU on behalf of both organizations.

Areas of collaboration in the MOU include referral programs connecting students with the Study Puerto Rico initiative to develop internships, pathways, fellowships and scholarships programs;  partnerships, alliances and collaboration between HACU-member institutions, public and private sector organizations, and Puerto Rico public and private institutions, also through the initiative; and collaborations in organizing conferences and symposiums, including HACU’s Annual and International Conferences.
