HACU announces workshops for 40th Annual Conference in Chula Vista, California

SAN ANTONIO – The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced workshops for its 40th Annual Conference and pre-conference events, to be held at the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center in Chula Vista, California, Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2026.

More than 50 workshops, offered under seven tracks and centered on the theme “40 Years of Championing Higher Education Success: One Graduate at a Time,” will feature exemplary practices, programs and initiatives in higher education and at Hispanic-Serving Institutions.

Conference workshop tracks include Capacity-Building for Hispanic-Serving Institutions and Emerging HSIs; Teaching and Learning; Student Engagement and Success; Excellence in Leadership; Federal and State Advocacy, Policy and Research; Global Engagement; and Preparing the Future Workforce.

HACU’s Annual Conference will feature an Opening Plenary, an International Plenary, a Town Hall, and an Exhibit Hall. HACU also will present its annual awards during conference events.

The HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute (student track), offered for undergraduate students, will be held in conjunction with the general conference. Students can apply to be sponsored to attend the conference through HACU’s Voces Nuevas Program. The application deadline is June 12, 2026.

Pre-conference events on Oct. 30 include the 15th Annual Deans’ Forum, “From Access to Completion: The Dean’s Playbook for Student Success,” and the Fourth Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium, “Vision. Voice. Value.”

Pre-conference events on Oct. 31 include the 12th Annual PreK-12/Higher Education Collaboration Symposium “Enduring Pathways for Student Success: Nourishing Equity, Opportunity, and Alignment Across PreK-12 and Higher Education,” and the 25th Annual Higher Education Leadership Institute, “Student Success by Design: Leading Institutional Transformation Across Campus Systems.”
