The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced applications are being accepted for the eighth cohort of its Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo. The Leadership program prepares senior higher education administrators at colleges and universities nationwide for top leadership roles. The application deadline is April 17, 2026.
The one-year fellowship program includes seven webinars and three in-person seminars. The first seminar will be held in conjunction with HACU’s 40th Annual Conference taking place Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2026, in Chula Vista, California. The second seminar will be held in conjunction with HACU’s National Capitol Forum on Higher Education taking place April 6-7, 2027. The third seminar will be an international component to held in the summer of 2027 and concludes with a special ceremony to recognize Fellows.
The sessions throughout the program focus on a wide range of topics and issues faced by today’s college and university leaders, at Hispanic-Serving Institutions, emerging HSIs and other institutions of higher learning, including career paths and job market dynamics.
The Leadership Academy faculty consists of current and former presidents, chancellors and senior administrators bringing over 100 years of combined experience serving various sectors of higher education, including private/public universities, community colleges and faith-based institutions.
Fellows chosen for the 2026-27 cohort are selected through a competitive application process.
