The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities partnered with Amazon to offer Robotics @ Amazon Day or R@AD, a one-day career enrichment summit on Sept. 29, 2023, that brought undergraduate students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in robotics to Amazon’s Seaport Office in Boston to learn about emergent technologies and explore career opportunities including internships and co-ops at Amazon Fulfillment Technologies and Robotics.

Invited students learned from leaders in science, software development, mechanical and hardware engineering, as well as management roles, with a key goal for students to see themselves represented and discover career opportunities as professionals and industry leaders in robotics. Students had access to demonstrations of Amazon’s latest technical applications, a football game of four teams of Amazon staff and their Lego robots, breakout sessions with featured keynote speakers and panels on employment and internships, workshops for invited university faculty and professors, resume reviews and a professional headshot station.
