HACU holds Colorado Higher Education Convening at 39th Annual Conference

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities held a Colorado Higher Education Convening on Nov. 2, 2025, for attendees from the state at HACU’s 39th Annual Conference. Welcome remarks were given by HACU Interim CEO John Moder.

The convening held the panel, “From National Challenges to Statewide Action: Colorado’s Legislative and Equity-Driven Approach to Higher Ed,” moderated by Jonathan Alcántar, Ph.D., associate professor, University of Northern Colorado. Panel speakers included Representative Cecelia Espenoza; Colorado General Assembly; Mordecai Brownlee, Ed.D., president, Community College of Aurora; and Angie Paccione, Ph.D., executive director, Colorado Department of Higher Education.

The Colorado Higher Education Convening was part of HACU’s 39th Annual Conference, “Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Forging Transformational Leaders to Uplift Democracy and Prosperity,” held Nov. 1-3, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado.
