Conference Student Tracks

Learn about the ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute, the student track for the Capitol Forum and HACU’s international events. Student tracks at HACU events feature opportunities and workshops for success in higher education and career pathways.

Scholarships

Students can apply for scholarships funded by HACU partners and administered by the Association. Awards and eligibility requirements vary by scholarship.

Internships

HACU’s flagship student program is our paid internship program, placing students in positions across the country since 1992, providing thousands of students invaluable professional experience interning within a federal agency or corporation. 

Advocacy

Vocus Nuevas Program

A competitive program for 50 students from HACU-member institutions across the U.S. and Puerto Rico to receive leadership, advocacy and career development training. Participants can apply for sponsorships to attend selected HACU Conference Student Track.

Travel Award

¡LĂ¡nzate!/Take Off!

The ¡LĂ¡nzate!/Take Off! Higher Education Travel Award Program awards roundtrip flights to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at a college/university located at least 200 miles from a student’s home. Selected students receive tickets for use to travel between home and college or university. 

Career Pathways

HACU offers a variety of student programs that provide development opportunities helping students prepare to enter and thrive in the future workforce.

Capital One Launchpad Program

Offered by HACU in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), this program provides 100 students with an extensive and immersive personal, professional, and technical development journey under Capital One mentors.

Emerging Leaders’ Summit

HACU Emerging Leaders’ Summits are designed for students from HACU-member institutions seeking to develop their leadership skills.

Galeno Program

The Galeno Program, offered by HACU in partnership with Universidad de Iberoamérica Costa Rica (UNIBE), provides a medical education for aspiring physicians with UNIBE’s innovative, world-class Doctorate of Medicine and Surgery.

DoctoreX

Increasing representation in the physician workforce by leveraging a large pool of diverse undergraduate talent enrolled at HSIs to pursue careers in medicine through domestic and international collaborations.

Global Engagement

Promoting and facilitating international initiatives, study abroad opportunities, international dialogue, international faculty exchanges, and an international conference.
