U.S. Secretary of Education meets with HSI presidents in a College Affordability Roundtable in Chicago

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) hosted a meeting where Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) presidents met with the U.S. Secretary of Education on Oct. 25th in Chicago, Ill.

Earlier this summer, the White House released a Fact Sheet on the President’s Plan to Make College More Affordable: A Better Bargain for the Middle Class. 

Education Secretary Arne Duncan joined more than a dozen college presidents in this College Affordability Roundtable. Secretary Duncan discussed with participants President Obama’s higher education agenda and gathered feedback on those proposals.

This private meeting took place prior to HACU's Annual Conference "Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Securing the American Dream." The annual conference is expected to draw more than 1,500 participants, October 26-28, 2013 at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan.
