HACU has partnered with Logixs, a company based in Spain specializing in generative AI, to transform education at member institutions. Participating institutions will be able to work on research projects in generative AI and collaborate with private companies in research and development projects. More>>

HACU National Internship Program interns begin summer session

HACU welcomed college students to the 2025 summer session of the HACU National Internship Program. A webinar orientation was held on May 30, 2025, for interns serving across federal agencies in Washington, D.C., and field offices nationwide. Interns will serve for 10 weeks as part of the summer internship session. More>>

Scholarship applications open for Deloitte Foundation HACU Scholars

HACU with support from the Deloitte Foundation, will award scholarships to eligible undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time at HACU-member institutions. A total of 68 scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,500. Application deadline is June 30, 2025. More>>

The HACU Scholarship Program is currently accepting applications from eligible students for the Café Bustelo El Café del Futuro Scholarship and the Sands Hospitality Advancement Scholarship. Deadlines for applications vary. More>>

HACU Federal and State Advocacy

HACU joined with the American Council on Education and other organizations in letters submitted to federal administration officials and legislators calling for action on a number of issues. These included a request for information from the OMB, a call for reinstating student visa interviews, and opposition to the reconciliation package. See coalition letters here.

HACU joined with the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems to oppose the Governor’s proposed budget cuts to higher education. Combined advocacy efforts prompted Latino Caucus members to join legislators opposed to the proposed 7.95% CSU and UC system cuts in signing a "Dear Colleague" letter, resulting in Governor Gavin Newsom reducing his proposed cut to 3%.
