The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, in partnership with the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), have awarded Spanish language department professionals at HACU-member colleges and universities 45 scholarships for a one-week program in Toledo, Spain. The program enhances the teaching of Spanish language and Spain’s culture with an exploration of UCLM as a potential study-abroad destination for students.
UCLM is internationally recognized for its excellence in teaching and research across four campuses. The program includes strategies and approaches to teaching Spanish language reading comprehension, oral communication and evaluation criteria of student learning. The cultural element included visits to San Pedro Mártir, the Santa Cruz Museum and cathedral, local synagogues and the Transit Gardens, the city of Consuegra, as well as lectures on Toledo’s multicultural history and artistic achievements.
