HACU holding 30th Annual National Capitol Forum in Washington, D.C. April 29-30, 2025

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is expected to bring together 400 higher education leaders and supporters to the 30th Annual National Capitol Forum on Hispanic Higher Education, April 29-30, 2025, in Washington, D.C. The two-day event will feature policy briefings on federal and state Hispanic-Serving Institutions priorities, with delegations to Capitol Hill meeting face-to-face with congressional leaders to advocate for HSIs and the students they serve.

Nearly 100 students participated in the inaugural “HSInnovators" student track in 2024, providing firsthand advocacy experience through workshops, a pitch competition, and opportunities to meet elected officials. HSInnovators empowers students to engage in meaningful advocacy, develop essential leadership skills, and learn to combine personal experiences with data to effectively present solutions and advocate for innovative change at all government levels.

The 2025 Capitol Forum will deliver another exceptional program covering the most critical legislative and funding priorities for HSIs, including equitable funding to address institutional growth, doubling the Pell Grant to support the nation’s neediest students, and tackling the healthcare workforce shortage in the U.S. The pre-Forum agenda will include agency representatives offering insight into federal funding opportunities for higher education institutions.
