HACU presents awards at the Power Lunch of its 38th Annual Conference on Hispanic higher education

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities presented three awards on Nov. 1, 2024, during the Power Lunch at its 38th Annual Conference. Ted Alejandre, Superintendent of San Bernardino County Schools and HACU Governing Board member served as convener.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo was the recipient of the Exemplary Policy/Advocacy Leadership Award. Alamo Colleges District Chancellor and HACU Governing Board chair Mike Flores was presented with The President's Award of Excellence. The United Health Foundation was recognized as the recipient of the Extraordinary Philanthropic Partner Award, with Vice President of Philanthropic Programs Lindsay Kedzuf accepting on their behalf.

Partner and sponsor remarks were given by representatives from Deloitte, the United States Agency for International Development, Fidelity Investments, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Peace Corps and the National Education Association.
