The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities will present the Second Women’s Leadership Symposium on October 31, 2024, from 11:30 - 5:30 p.m., as part of a pre conference event of its 38th Annual Conference taking place at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado.
The symposium is an opportunity to help women explore, dialogue, and learn from other women in executive leadership positions on topics related to successfully navigating the higher education work environment, building a strategic network, and becoming better prepared to assume executive roles in education or any other career field. Developing a deeper insight into the unique experiences of women higher education professional is of paramount importance if the gender gap is to be closed.
The Symposium will be moderated by Angela Marquez, Ph.D., vice president of diversity equity and inclusion/chief of staff, Community College of Aurora. Confirmed speakers include: Emma Grace Hernández Flores, Ph.D., president, Universidad de Iberoamérica; Cecilia Durall, executive director of the National Counter Terrorism Center, Office of the Director of National Intelligence; Yudi Lewis, executive director of Hispanic-Serving Institution initiatives, Weber State University; Dania Matos, J.D., vice chancellor for equity and inclusion, University of California, Berkeley; Narcisa Polonia, Ed.D., senior executive search consultant, Greenwood Asher & Associates; Beatriz Gonzalez, Ph.D., president, Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus; Stephanie Fujii, Ph.D., president, Arapahoe Community College; Jann Joseph, Ph.D., president, Georgia Gwinnett College; and Margaret McMenamin, Ed.D., president, Union College.
