The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities signed a memorandum of understanding on September 9, 2024, with the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores and Department of Commerce Secretary Gina M. Raimondo signed the MOU on behalf of both organizations.
The purpose of the MOU is to provide a partnership framework expanding outreach and recruitment to students and recent graduates of HACU-member institutions for opportunities within Commerce that includes internships, fellowships, temporary assignments, academic programs and permanent Federal employment.
In addition, the MOU encourages collaboration between Hispanic organizations, HSIs and the DOC to prepare Hispanic students for higher education and for careers in economics, business, international trade, and other commerce-related areas.
