HACU’s 14th International Conference begins second day with Plenary Session II

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ 14th International Conference second day started with Plenary Session II, “Generative AI: Opportunities and Threats for Global Higher Education,” on June 4, 2024. The session explored the transformative potential of generative artificial intelligence in worldwide educational opportunities, revolutionizing teaching and learning experiences to address diverse learning needs and fostering inclusive educational environments.

Speakers at the session framed as a conversation moderated by María Teresa Enciso Alonso-Muñumer, dean of law and political science faculty, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, were: Juan Manuel Corchado Rodríguez, Ph.D., professor of computer science and artificial intelligence, University of Salamanca; Guillermo Diaz, founder and CEO, Conectado, Inc.; and Antonio Serrano, Ph.D., executive director, Gresol International American School. Key topics during the conversation were ethical considerations regarding data privacy, algorithmic bias, and digital equity, and collaborative efforts across borders. A Q&A session with the audience concluded the session.

HACU’s 14th International Conference was held June 3-5, 2024, at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain.
