HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores recognized by the City of Salamanca

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was recognized by the City of Salamanca on June 2, 2024. Flores was formally recognized by Mayor Carlos Manuel Garcia Carbayo for being a Distinguished Guest. HACU is hosting its 14th International Conference "Innovation and Technology for an Inclusive and Diverse Workforce" at the University of Salamanca, June 3-5, 2024.

Flores addressed the Mayor to thank him for the recognition and accepted the honor on behalf of the Association. In attendance at the Recognition Ceremony were HACU senior leadership and fellows of HACU’s Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo, who were in Spain to complete their international seminar.

“HACU is honored to receive this gracious recognition from the City of Salamanca,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “Through the partnership with the University of Salamanca, the Royal Spanish Academy, and the Junta of Castile and León on the Spanish Certificate program, HACU aims to strengthen the Spanish language skills of students to create more opportunities for their professional success.”

HACU recently developed an MOU partnership with the University of Salamanca, the Royal Spanish Academy, and the Junta of Castile and Leon to create a Spanish Certificate program. The MOU formally establishes asynchronous online courses offered by the University of Salamanca for faculty and prospective Spanish educators at HACU-member institutions and Spanish proficiency certificates for students at member institutions.
