HACU Webinar: From Idea to Funding: Insights from a Panel of NSF Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program Grant Winners

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is hosting a HACU-member webinar titled, “From Idea to Funding: Insights from a Panel of NSF Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program Grant Winners,” on June 18, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. CT.

The webinar will focus on the goals of the NSF Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE): HSI program. These goals are to enhance the quality of undergraduate STEM education and to increase the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of students pursuing associate’s or baccalaureate degrees in STEM.  During the panel webinar, Drs. Chavira and Trujillo, who have been awarded NSF HSI IUSE grants for their innovative projects, will share their process and practices for submitting a successful proposal. They will offer practical tips and insights on how to navigate the grant-writing process. This includes discussing any challenges and strategies they used to submit a grant proposal.

The webinar will be presented by Gabriela Chavira, Ph.D., professor of Psychology at California State University Northridge, and Kelly Trujillo, Ph.D., Associate Dean at Santa Fe Community College.
