HACU and UTSA present OIT Laptop Award

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and the University of Texas at San Antonio awarded Eric Lopez with the Office of Information Technology Laptop Award. The awardee is selected from graduates of UTSA's Tomas Rivera Center for Academic Success Access College & Excel Scholar Program who have obtained a GPA of at least 2.50 and exemplified strong community and campus involvement while at UTSA. Awardees are determined by an essay contest.

HACU’s Senior Vice President for Programs and Operations Lisa Alcorta, Ph.D., gave remarks at the award ceremony recognizing this year’s award recipient, past program participants and the 2022-23 cohort of the Access College & Excel program at UTSA.

The laptop award program originated with a partnership between HACU and Gateway nearly 20 years ago, with HACU and UTSA continuing to make the annual laptop awards after the Gateway partnership ended.
