HACU and the United States Agency for International Development announce partnership

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a partnership agreement that will help expand opportunities for students and faculty at HACU-member Institutions.

The signing between HACU and USAID leadership took place on April 19, 2023, in Washington, D.C. at HACU’s 28th Annual National Capitol Forum. HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores, Ph.D., and Administrator Samantha Powers signed on behalf of both organizations. HACU Governing board members President of Southern Nevada College Federico Zaragoza, Ph.D., President of New Mexico University Garnett S. Stokes, Ph.D., and Chancellor of the Alamo Colleges District Mike Flores, Ph.D. and USAID representatives were among those present for the signing.

The agreement signed builds upon an existing relationship with HACU to foster short-term faculty fellowships; improve collaboration on engagement and outreach opportunities, including conferences; and expand data and information sharing to support greater partnerships between USAID and HACU’s member Hispanic-Serving Institutions.
