HACU President and CEO Antonio Flores in Chicago for HACU on the Road

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities held a HACU on the Road event on the campus of University of Illinois Chicago on March 8, 2023. The event brought together approximately 70 attendees from the Chicago area to learn more about HACU. In attendance were HACU-members, non-members, corporate and community representatives.

University of Illinois Chicago Vice Chancellor Amalia Pallares gave welcoming remarks followed by University of Illinois Chicago Chancellor Javier Reyes. HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores presented on HACU programs and initiatives followed by a question-and-answer session. Melanie Valentin, HACU intern and UIC student, gave remarks about her current internship and her experience with HACU.

Flores’ visit to Chicago included hosting a Partner Appreciation Dinner which brought together representatives from Deloitte, Southwest Airlines, National Futures Association, JLL, Exelon and E & J Gallo Winery to thank them for their support of HACU programs.

He also participated in a Community Engagement Dinner with City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Juan Salgado, Enlace Co-Executive Director Cesar Nuñez and the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement CEO Patricia Mota.

HACU will be hosting its 37th Annual Conference in Chicago, Illinois at the Hilton Chicago on Oct. 28-30, 2023.
