The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was among the panelists at the California Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation 2023 policy conference in Anaheim, California on March 3, 2023.
Joining Flores on the panel titled, “The Access, Retention, and Completion (ARC) of Latino Student Success: Hispanic-Serving Institutions HSI’s Upward Mobility,” were Dr. Marshall C. Anthony Jr, research director, the Institute of College Access and Success (TICAS) and Dr. Louie F. Rodriguez, interim dean and professor, Graduate School of Education at UC Riverside. The panel was moderated by California Assemblymember Juan Carrillo.
California is home to 30% of the nation’s Hispanic-Serving Institutions. Additionally, HSIs enroll 89.5% of the Hispanic student population and 91.1% of the Hispanic undergraduate population in the state. California HSIs enroll 75.1% of the state total student population, and 81.3% of the state’s total undergraduate student population.
