HACU President and CEO Antonio Flores in Sacramento, Calif

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities held a Networking Reception on March 1, 2023, with HACU’s leadership and senior staff for the purpose of building alliances and introducing the Western Regional Office in Sacramento, California. The event brought together HACU supporters from the Sacramento area. 

HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores gave welcoming remarks followed by HACU Executive Director of Western States Policy and Outreach Brenda Valles. Other speakers included California State Senator Steven Bradford; California State Assemblymember Juan Carrillo; California State Assemblymember Robert Rivas and Jose Perez, Co-Founder of Hispanics in Energy.

Prior to the event, Flores attended several meetings, including a Reception hosted by Mexican Ambassador Liliana Ferrer. He also attended a meeting with Northern California Community College Presidents, hosted by Interim President Albert Garcia Sacramento City College to discuss HACU initiatives and issues affecting their campuses.

 



  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
