HACU president and CEO speaks at virtual discussion with Ambassador of the United States of America to Mexico

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities' President and CEO Antonio R. Flores participated in a virtual discussion for the Bicentennial of Diplomatic Relations between the United States and Mexico on Dec. 1, 2022. The discussion was held with Ambassador of the United States of America to Mexico Ken Salazar.

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico hosted the event as part of a yearlong celebration and commemoration with 200 events across the U.S. and Mexico the week of Dec. 12 to celebrate 200 years of diplomatic relations.

Organizations are encouraged to host their own event during the week of Dec. 12 with the goal of showcasing the relationship in communities around each country.

Examples of events include:

  • Panel or speaker to talk about the relationship between Mexico and the U.S.
  • Bring together your community to celebrate their connections to each country with a party- enjoy food, music and fun from both countries
  • Lift up the art of Mexicans and Americans of Mexican heritage- partner with a gallery or museum to have a special program to highlight the work to the community
