The National Science Foundation (NSF) has committed to expanding efforts to ensure that underrepresented groups and diverse institutions across the U.S. have equitable opportunities to produce a diverse STEM workforce. The Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) program has been a pillar in that work
NSF invites the HSI community to participate in Listening Sessions to discuss the progress made in the collective efforts to achieve more diversity and equity in STEM undergraduate education. Faculty, staff and administrators are encouraged to sign up for a Listening Session through the date links below.
In preparation for the Listening Sessions, please see the NSF Letter to the HSI Community and the Listening Session Background Guiding Questions for more context that will guide our conversation. Participants are encouraged to review the material, including the solicitations (HSI Program and HSI-Net) in preparation for the listening session.
The Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Division has published the MSP Notice Inviting Applications (NIA) in the Federal Register. The MSP is designed to promote the study of modeling and simulation at institutions of higher education (IHEs) by promoting the enhancement or development of modeling and simulation degree and certificate programs. Additionally, through this program, the Department will create a task force that will include successful grantees and other content experts to raise awareness and help further define the study of modeling and simulation.
