Invitation from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA)

The Hispanic Serving Institutions Education Grants (HSI) program at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) would like to invite you to a conference call to meet with program staff to discuss the HSI program and how NIFA can best serve you in the future. This will be a follow-up to the conversation hosted in October 2021 and will be a chance to meet and speak with Institute of Youth, Family, and Community Deputy Director, Dr. Venu (Kal) Kalavacharla.

Please register here for the meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. CT /12 p.m. ET.

NIFA is interested in hearing about any issue pertaining to HSIs, but in particular the following:

  • Emerging food and agriculture topics that are important for your institution, students, and community
  • Current challenges being faced
  • General issues affecting HSIs of which NIFA needs to be cognizant
  • Thoughts on evaluation of programs and dissemination of best practices amongst the HSI community
  • Other programs and opportunities that interest you

There is an opportunity to indicate in the registration if you would like to provide two minutes of verbal comments. Your feedback will be helpful to accommodate comments and questions and knowing the interest from the audience in advance. If you are unable to attend and would like to send written comments, please email them to HSIGrants@usda.gov.

Feel free to forward this information to any other colleagues who may be interested in learning more about opportunities at NIFA. More information about the HSI program can be found at the following link https://nifa.usda.gov/funding-opportunity/hispanic-serving-institutions-education-grants-program-hsi.
