Webinar: HACU Leadership Academy, La Academia de Liderazgo
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities will host an informational webinar about the HACU Leadership Academy, La Academia de Liderazgo on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. CT. Register here.
La Academia is producing the next generation of culturally diverse leaders in higher education through an innovative academy that sets itself apart from other programs with its emphasis on Hispanic-Serving Institutions.
Tito Guerrero director of La Academia de Liderazgo will lead the webinar presentation, along with HACU staff and former Leadership Academy Fellows. Guerrero will provide an overview of the program, the application process, and key dates of the program. Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear from program alumni who have ascended to presidencies and will be invited to participate in a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
Applicants from HACU-member institutions who are unable to secure funding from their institution to participate in the program are eligible for consideration for a fellowship. Information about applying for a fellowship made possible through grant funding by the Carnegie Corporation of New York will also be provided.
The one-year program includes an orientation webinar on Sept. 21, 2022, followed by three seminars offered as follows: Oct. 2022, in conjunction with HACU’s Annual Conference in San Diego, Calif.; April 2023 at HACU’s National Capitol Forum in Washington, D.C.; and an international seminar to be held in the spring or summer of 2023. Deadline for application submissions and nominations is March 25, 2022, with selected participants announced on April 29, 2022.
