HACU partners with Apple to award scholarships through Apple Scholars Program

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced the Apple Scholars Program scholarship recipients for the 2021-22 school year. Eight students attending HACU-member institutions will receive a $15,000 scholarship. They will also be assigned an Apple mentor for the year and participate in an exclusive one-week immersion event with Apple.

Students were selected by sharing their views on the future of the tech industry and how they perceived themselves contributing to the advancement of technology in areas of accessibility, education, environment, inclusion and diversity or privacy – all key values of Apple.

Selected students include:

  • Rabiat Sadiq – The University of Texas at San Antonio
  • Girish Krishnan – University of California, San Diego
  • Sebastian Cruz-Romero – University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez
  • Joanna Yang – University of California, San Diego
  • Alejandro Martinez – University of California, San Diego
  • Rose De Sicilia – Florida International University
  • Petar Matejic – University of Nevada, Las Vegas
  • Eric Olaguir – The University of New Mexico

The Apple Scholars Program scholarships are part of the 2021-22 HACU Scholarship Program.
