HACU and Denny's award scholarships to five students

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is pleased to announce that five students from HACU-member institutions were the recipients of scholarships awarded through the 2021-22 Denny's Hungry for Education program.

HACU was one of 22 leading non-profit advocacy organizations who partnered with Denny’s to offer scholarships. Awardees submitted essays on how Denny's can bring communities together.

The following students were selected to receive $2,000 scholarship:

  • Christian Herrera - El Paso Community College
  • Elijah Gaddis - California State University Fullerton
  • Carlos Manuel Galvan Santos - University of Central Florida         
  • Gavin Frazier - California State University: Monterey Bay 
  • Elica Castrejon - Northeastern Illinois University
