USDA Accepting Applications for the 2022 E. Kika De La Garza Fellowship Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement (OPPE) is now accepting applications for the 2022 Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Fellows through the E. Kika De La Garza Fellowship Program.
The fellowship will introduce faculty and staff of HSIs to USDA resources available to them. Fellows will receive access to long-term collaboration opportunities, and then share what they learned with students and colleagues at their home institutions.
Eligible applicants are faculty or staff at a HSI or Hispanic-Serving School District. HSIs are accredited colleges and universities with at least 25 percent Hispanic student enrollment. Currently, there are more than 500 HSIs in 30 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, serving more than 3 million students.
Available Fellowships:
Note: All applicants MUST fully commit to the defined fellowship dates.
Education Fellowship and High School Education Fellowship: High School Fellowships are for secondary education superintendents, principals, agricultural and/or district level teachers working for a Hispanic-Serving School District. Participants attend a one-week program (July 11-15, 2022) in Washington, D.C.
Science Fellowships are for science faculty at Hispanic-Serving Institutions: Science fellows collaborate with leading scientists from either USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) or Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Participants attend a one-week program in Washington, D.C. (July 11-15, 2022), and then depending on their field of interest, spend an additional week at either a USDA ARS research center or with the USDA NRCS Soil Science Lab in Lincoln, Neb. (July 18-22, 2022).

FY 2023 Grants for Arts Projects Guidelines Webinar
The National Endowment for the Arts is holding a webinar on the Grants for Arts Projects guidelines on Jan. 12, 2022, 3-4 p.m. EST. The webinar will include an overview of the funding category and tips for applicants, as well as a Q&A session. University of California Hispanic-Serving Institutions Initiative (UC-HSI) Research Apprenticeship Program
The University of California Hispanic-Serving Institutions Initiative's is accepting applications for its Inaugural Research Apprenticeship Program (UC-HSI RAP). The program aims to support junior scholars in the UC who focus their dissertation research on Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The goal is to support and strengthen the future generations of UC HSI scholars, leaders, and administrators who focus on equity issues in the context of HSIs. Deadline is Jan. 15, 2022. NASA Increasing Participation of MSIs in Earth Science Division Surface-Based Measurement Networks
NASA has announced funding for its Increasing Participation of Minority Serving Institutions in Earth Science Division Surface-Based Measurement Networks. Surface-based measurement networks are an important component of the suite of observational capabilities employed by NASA’s Earth Science Division (ESD) because of their ability both to provide unique information about the properties of the Earth system and to provide calibration/validation information in support of the satellites flown by ESD and its domestic and international partners.

2022 Title VI National Resource Centers and Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships
The International and Foreign Language Education (IFLE) office at the U.S. Department of Education has announced the opening of the competitions for the fiscal year (FY) 2022 Title VI National Resource Centers (NRC) and Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships programs.
The NRC Program provides grants to institutions of higher education (IHEs) or consortia of IHEs to establish, strengthen, and operate centers that will be national resources for teaching, training, and research in modern foreign languages, area studies, and international studies. U.S. Department of State’s IDEAS Program
The U.S. Department of State’s IDEAS Program has announced the launch of its 2022 IDEAS small grants competition, which assists U.S. colleges and universities in creating, diversifying, and/or expanding their study abroad programming in support of U.S. foreign policy goals.
The IDEAS (Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students) Program, formerly known as the Capacity Building Program for U.S. Study Abroad, is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in its implementation by World Learning. Deadline is Feb. 20, 2022. Click here to apply.
