The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities bid farewell to its 2021 fall interns with a virtual ceremony on Dec. 16, 2021. The participants were undergraduate and graduate students who served internships with federal agencies across the country, as part of the HACU National Internship Program.
HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores, the HNIP staff gave some remarks about the internship program. Former HNIP intern Beatriz Ceja Williams, senior director institutional service office of postsecondary education at the U.S. Department of Education, spoke about her internship experience at the Library of Congress. She advised interns to remember the lessons and skillsets learned during their internships and to carry them to the next chapter in their professional careers. Seven current interns were also given the opportunity to speak about their summer internship experiences.
Over 120 students participated in these internships for a total of 15 weeks, as part of HACU’s National Internship Program. The following agencies in the Washington, D.C., metro area and field offices throughout the country provided the internships opportunities:
HACU is accepting applications for the 2022 summer internship session. Internship dates are June 6- Aug. 12, 2022, for students on a regular calendar, and June 20- Aug. 26, 2022, for students on a quarter calendar. Applications will be accepted until Feb. 25, 2022.
