The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is providing the following information about upcoming deadlines below:
HACU webinar on EXITO: CIA Career Exploration Boot-Camp
HACU will be co-hosting a webinar with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for students currently enrolled as an undergraduate freshman enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at a HACU-Member Institution to learn more about the EXITO: CIA Career Exploration Boot-Camp. The webinar will provide an overview about applying to the boot-camp taking place in 2022, where students can meet with CIA professionals to learn about the culture, expectations, and opportunities available when pursuing a career with the CIA. The webinar takes place on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 1-2:30 p.m. CST. Interested students must download the Jitsi Meet app prior to attending the webinar. Click here to register.
DHS S&T Launches the 2022 HS Power Program
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) has launched the competition for graduate and undergraduate students across the United States to participate in the 2022 Homeland Security Professional Opportunities for the Student Workforce to Experience Research (HS-POWER) program.
The DHS HS-POWER program, administered by the S&T Office of University Programs, offers internships for students majoring in homeland security-related STEM disciplines. These opportunities allow students to gain quality research experiences at DHS components, federal research facilities, and other HS-STEM focused entities nationwide while at the same time providing networking opportunities with DHS professionals. Participants conduct research in DHS mission-relevant research areas at federal research facilities or at DHS components conducting research and/or product delivery.

HSI Hub Spring 2022 JumpStart Virtual Workshops taking place virtually
The HSI STEM Hub will be hosting the 2022 HSI STEM Resource Hub Jumpstart workshops virtually to prepare attendees to submit applications to the NSF HSI STEM. The content will focus on preparing grants for the new NSF HSI Initiative that seeks to increase grant support for STEM Education in Hispanic-Serving Institutions (due date August 31, 2022, Annually Thereafter). The two-day workshops will take place for cohort 1 on January 8 and 15 and cohort 2 on March 19 and 26. For more information and to apply click here.
IFYC Faith and Health Campus Grants
Interfaith Youth Core is accepting applications for a new round of Faith and Health Campus Grants, designed to support faculty and staff interested in exploring the intersection of religion and health. Recipients of the Faith and Health grants will plan and deliver a range of curricular and co-curricular initiatives that can include but also go beyond COVID-19 and vaccine-related outreach.
These $4,000 grants can be used to support the grantees time and energy in pursuing projects such as curriculum development, research, and campus and community events related to religious identity and health. 2022 HACU Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo Applications Open
HACU has announced applications are being accepted for the fourth cohort of its Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo. The Leadership program prepares senior higher education administrators at colleges and universities nationwide for top leadership roles at Hispanic-Serving Institutions, emerging HSIs and other institutions of higher learning. Applications will be accepted through March 25, 2022, with selected participants announced on April 29, 2022. Click here for more information.
