California Department of Education Grant Opportunity for Computer Science
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is providing the following information about a one-time funding opportunity provided for in the 2021-22 California Budget.
The Grant provides $5 million on a one-time basis to establish the Educator Workforce Investment Grant (EWIG) Program: Computer Science (CS). The selected grantee will become an important member of the Statewide System of Support, providing targeted support focused on strategies for providing high-quality CS instruction learning experiences aligned to California CS Content Standards developed pursuant to Education Code Section 60605.4. The grant period: March 3, 2022 through March 29, 2024.
Lead applicants must be an institution of higher education or a nonprofit organization with demonstrated expertise in developing and providing professional learning to teachers and paraprofessionals in public schools serving kindergarten and grades one to twelve, inclusive. Applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge and capacity to implement the California CS Content Standards in a manner that aligns with the Statewide System of Support.
