The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is hosting a webinar series for National Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) week, observed Sept. 13-19, 2021. The observance also takes place during National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated Sept. 15-Oct. 15.

Federal government partners will be presenting webinars about funding opportunities available to HSIs, such as grants, research programs, and student internships. College and university presidents, chancellors, deans, provosts, grant administrators, and professors are invited to participate in these webinars that will outline the grant funding cycle, program and employment details.

Monday, Sept. 13

Funding Opportunities for HSIs at National Science Foundation

The webinar, presented by Erika Tatiana Camacho, Ph.D., and Sonja Montas-Hunter, Ph.D., program directors for the National Science Foundation, will focus on the NSF Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI Program), Organizational Change for Gender Equity in STEM Academic Professions (Advance), and Racial Equity in STEM Education. U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship Partnerships with MSIs

The webinar, presented by Angela McDaniel, apprenticeship diversity & inclusion lead for the U.S. Department of Labor, will focus on the Department’s Office of Apprenticeship programand the benefits of apprenticeship for current Minority Servicing Institutions’ students, recent MSI alumni and the role of MSIs in this initiative. U.S. Office of Personnel Management Presidential Management Fellows Program

The webinar, presented by Julie Wong, PMF, Office of Apprenticeship; Brandon Jacobson, communications, outreach lead, PMF Program Office; Rueben D. U.S. Department of Energy overview of grants available for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
