Department of Commerce’s Minority Colleges and Universities Grant Competition available now

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is providing information on the Minority Business Development Agency’s (MBDA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, program called Minority Colleges and Universities Grant Competition.

The MBDA will be hosting a pre-application teleconference for the grant on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 2-3 p.m. EDT. Participants must register at least 24 hours in advance of the teleconference using the following registration link: https://www.mbda.gov/minority-colleges-and-universities-grant-competition-registration

Program Objective: MBDA has developed a pilot program to support entrepreneurship for undergraduate students at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions (NHSIs), and Alaska Native Serving Institutions (ANSIs) to develop curricula, pilot courses, seminars, and replicable products and tools that address inclusive innovation and general economic development. The goal is to establish five (5) pilot projects, one at each type of institution above, to lay the foundation for a future generation of entrepreneurial leaders and innovators that will help strengthen U.S. global competitiveness, job creation, and the overall U.S. economy.
