HACU awards 25 students Rising Líderes of San Antonio COVID-19 mobility grants
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has awarded 25 mobility grants as part of the Rising Líderes of San Antonio COVID-19 initiative. The one-time $1,000 grants were made to college students attending HACU-member institutions within San Antonio, Texas and who were in need of emergency relief due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over 300 students from HACU-member institutions who demonstrated needs in the categories of food, housing, transportation, technology and dependent care applied for the Rising Líderes of San Antonio COVID-19 Grants. Students from the Alamo Colleges District - Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio College, St. Phillip's College, Our Lady of the Lake University, Texas A&M University-San Antonio and The University of Texas at San Antonio were among those notified of their selection.
Funding for these grants was made possible by a $25,000 grant due to the selection of HACU Director of Member Services Richard Montez as the 2020 Coors Light Líder of the Year.
