The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced 25 mobility grants will be awarded to college students as part of the Rising Líderes of San Antonio COVID-19 initiative. The grant application is open to college students attending HACU-member institutions within San Antonio, Texas and who are in need for emergency relief due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The $1,000 grants are for one-time relief assistance.
Funding for these grants was made possible by a $25,000 grant awarded to HACU headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, as a result of the selection of HACU Director of Member Services Richard Montez as the 2020 Coors Light Líder of the Year.
“We are thankful for all the support received during the Coors Light Líderes program that made it possible for HACU to receive this grant to support our future leaders,” said Richard Montez. “College students have been hit particularly hard by COVID-19. These funds will help students continue pursuing their education despite the financial stressors placed on them by the pandemic.”
College students must be 21 or older to be eligible to apply for the grants. The grants are open to students in any major enrolled full-time or part-time at a two-year or four-year HACU member institution within San Antonio, Texas. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Students can apply for a grant in any one of the following five categories:
