The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities will be represented as part of a webinar on the topic: “Why is STEM so important” on July 30, 2020, at 1 p.m. EDT. The webinar will focus on barriers the Hispanic community faces when breaking into STEM careers, and ways to combat these obstacles.
Hosted by Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) Executive Vice President and COO Lisette Garcia, Ph.D., the webinar will include guest speakers: Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) CEO, Raquel Tamez and HACU Senior Vice President of Operations, David Ortiz, Ph.D. They’ll share their perspectives on how to recruit and retain Hispanic talent in the ever-growing STEM field and insights on the importance of Hispanic advocacy in STEM careers.
