The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities National Internship Program welcomed its 2020 summer interns with a virtual orientation on May 28, 2020, for college students serving virtual internships. Internships are being held remotely as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This marks the first time that all students will be participating in virtual internships.

A welcome was given by HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores, followed by remarks by the HNIP staff regarding the internship program. Two program alumni also addressed the interns and discussed their internship experiences.

The following agencies in the Washington, D.C., metro area and field offices throughout the country are among those providing these internship opportunities to students:

• National Science Foundation
• Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation
• Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
• U.S. Census Bureau
