“For more than 15 years, these travel awards have provided college students the opportunity to visit their families when they may not have otherwise had the financial means to travel back home,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “We are grateful to Southwest Airlines for their partnership in this important program and for championing Hispanic success in higher education.”
“The ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Travel Award Program is a unique model that provides students the opportunity to discover higher education pathways, while remaining connected to their families,” said Laura Nieto, Director of Community Outreach at Southwest. “Our longstanding partnership with HACU further demonstrates Southwest’s commitment to life-changing transportation, because we believe when students achieve their educational pursuits, communities thrive.”
HACU will send an email communication to students selected by July 10, 2020.
Students will receive the awarded number of roundtrip tickets from Southwest Airlines by August 5, 2020.
