HACU and Denny's award scholarships to five students

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is pleased to announce that five students from HACU-member institutions were the recipients of scholarships awarded through the 2019-20 Denny's Hungry for Education program. 

HACU was one of five leading non-profit minority advocacy organizations who partnered with Denny’s to offer scholarships. The awardees submitted essays on how Denny's can impact childhood hunger in the United States. The following students were selected to receive $1,000 scholarship:

  • Marlen Gutierrez - Concordia University Texas
  • Eva Ducanis - Nova Southeastern University
  • Pablo Vallejo - Stillman College
  • Armando Contreras - University of California, Irvine
  • Seon Bristol - York College, CUNY

 

The Denny's Hungry for Education Scholarships were part of the 2019-20 HACU Scholarship Program. Watch the virtual commencement honoring our scholarship winners and graduates along with Denny’s leaders and special guests below.
