HACU statement on CSU Chancellor Timothy P. White’s Announcement to Retire in 2020

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has issued the following statement on California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White’s plans to retire in 2020:

“Chancellor Timothy White has been a strong advocate for student success in a system that is home to 21 Hispanic-Serving Institutions, and awards over half of all bachelor’s degrees to Latinos in the state of California,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “As a champion for the Graduation Initiative 2025, he has strengthened opportunities for CSU’s students, on par with access to the largest public 4-year system. Chancellor White is a true champion of Hispanic higher education success. He has been a long-standing supporter of HACU and his visionary leadership will be missed.”

HACU congratulates Chancellor White for a prolific higher education career and his many accomplishments in providing access to underrepresented students throughout California.
