HACU’s Eighth Annual Deans’ Forum to focus on higher education, equity, social mobility outcomes

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities will host its Eighth Annual Deans’ Forum on Hispanic Higher Education, a post-conference event on Tuesday, Oct. 08, 2019, 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The focus of the Forum will be on equity in higher education and its impact on economic and social mobility outcomes. For the agenda, click here.

The half-day event will begin with a keynote presentation by Lorelle Espinosa, Ph.D., vice president for research at the American Council on Education. 

Presenters will discuss “How institutions are increasing equity and driving economic and social mobility” for Hispanic students.

Laura Moore, deputy policy director from Opportunity Insights, a research group based at Harvard University, will also be among the presenters and will facilitate the panel discussion. 

Panelists will include:

  • Jennifer Capps, Ph.D., Metropolitan State University – Denver
  • Alma Rodriguez, Ed.D., The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
  • Michael Preston, Ph.D., Florida Consortium of Metropolitan Research Universities

The Forum will close with a presentation by Scott E. Evenbeck, Ph.D., president of Stella and Charles Guttman Community College, CUNY.
