The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and ecoAmerica have released the Climate Messaging Project, "Let’s Talk Climate: Messages to Motivate U.S. Latinos," providing findings that include words, phrases, and messages that can be used by Latino leaders to successfully communicate the need for immediate action on climate change.

Nearly half of America's Latinos live in cities most affected by air pollution and climate change, increasingly placing them at risk for associated health and economic effects.

"As this report confirms, Latinos - especially Spanish-speaking Latinos - are aware of and support solutions at a considerably higher level than Americans overall," states HACU CEO and President Antonio R. Flores in the report. "Latinos seek solutions at local and national levels and are highly motivated to take action on climate change, seeking guidance, information, and effective ways to advocate."
